In geology I liked studying about the differnt plate boundaries it was pretty cool. Even though it gave me a big challenge. While studying meteorology, I liked learning about the fronts, because now when I look at the weather channel, I can actually understand what the person is saying and not be totally dumbfounded. Oceanography, I didn't like to much it just was not that interesting to me. I dont know why. Astonomy was my favorite, I learned the most in this area, and it was the most amusing to learn about. I finally grasped everything, well all the basics about the universe. Although I agree and disagree with some things, I learned alot in this class. Thanks alot Mr. Dunn.

1. On an H-R Diagram, what is the main sequence?
On the left are hot stars, and on the right is cold. At the top are bright and at the bottom are dim.
2. What percentage of stars are main sequence stars?
90 percent of the stars are main sequence.
3. Is the Sun a main sequence star?
Yes the sun is a main-sequence star.At the top are the bright stars, at the bottom are the dim stars, at the left are the hot stars, at theright are cold stars.
4. What will happen to the Sun next? When will this happen?
The sun will become a dim, cold, red-giant.
5. Include a picture of an H-R Diagram. Explain it.

My Fav 5
Milky Way Galaxy
- When I first learned of this "Milky Way", I tought the the person that made the comment meant a candy bar. At the time I knew for sure that there was no such thing as a milky way, at least not in our outer space. Well, as I got older, I learned different. The only reason they called this galaxy the "Milky Way" is because, it is white and from afar looks like powdered milk. Well this is what I was taught, and I'm sticking to it.
Asteroid Belt
- I learned that the asteroid belt is nothing more than a ring that consist of alot of comets and asteroids in one big area. Well I learned this when I was younger, if it's true or not I dont know. I think the teachers were just being plain out lazy. Well, any ways, in my opinion I find the asteroid belt very interesting. I often wonder where comets and astros come from. I do believe I found out where. But I'm eager to learn more.
Star Constellation
- I found the star constellation the most interesting, simply because I focus on it all the time. What I mean by that is many people often ask "What is your sign?", well, I know from the constellation that I am a gemini. Some people over look this alot but I dont. Star constellation where horoscopes first originated from. Bet you didnt know that did you. Often at night, when it's not to cold out side, I go out and look up at the stars for a little while. I love the sky during the day and at night. I love the night more, because of the constellations. I often try to find certain stars but I can not. The only one I have ever been able to find is the "Big Dipper". Every one knows the story behind that. In my opinion, stars are the most beautiful thing in our atmosphere at night.
Telescopes
- With out telescopes, our previous astrology researchers would have been clueless without this device. It would have many years to come before we would have know what the galaxy looked like just from Earth. That is why I am glad that we have N.A.S.A. They are a big help. I use to have a telescope from scholastic, I loved it until I tried to use it to look at the stars. I found out that it was fake. I lost my temper and destroyed it. Dont ask why.
The Moon
- The moon is what we see every night when we go to bed. If it were not for street lights, and etc., the moon and stars would be our only source of light. It would be a very poor source. Back in 1968, Neil Armstong, was the first man to ever step foot on the moon. Many people never thought it would be possible. I thought it was pretty cool to see him blast off to the moon. Even though I was not alive then, I saw the t.v. program on it. Pretty cool huh.

The Factors
1. What 3 factors effect wind?
2. Which of the 3 do you think has the greatest effect? Why?
3. What would happen if this factor (from #2) all of a sudden stopped? Remember to include details about what might happen in your response.
- Pressure Differences
- Coriolis Effect
- Friction
2. Which of the 3 do you think has the greatest effect? Why?
- Pressure differences, because it is what brings bad or good weather.
3. What would happen if this factor (from #2) all of a sudden stopped? Remember to include details about what might happen in your response.
- The earth would have a steady temperature each day, all over the planet. I do not think this would beneficial. If this would happen plants and many animal species would probably not survive, or they would have to adapt rather quickly.

The Greenhouse Effect
The greenhouse effect is the heating of Earth's surface and atmosphere from solar radiation being absorbed. The most common gasses in the greenhouse effect are carbon dioxide and water vapor. The greenhouse has a positive effect on our lives, it keeps us with cool, clean air. For the most part. The greenhouse effect is good, simply because without it, we would breath bad air.

The Drill
What is off shore drilling?
- Off shore drilling is the drilling of oil out in the ocean.
Why is it good?
- Off shore drilling is good because it helps bring in oil resources, which eliviates the need for mining in our country as well as in others.
Why is it bad?
- Off shore drilling is bad because if an oil spill or a blowout happened, it could kill the workers as well as the marine habitat. This could also cause water pollution.
How do you feel about it?
- I feel that off shore drilling is a very effective way to save our enviroment, and stop having to use other country's for it's oil. But on the same hand, I feel that it is dangerous because of the possibility of an oil spill or an blowout. If this were to happen many creatures in the ocean would be lost, the toxic fumes could get into our air, and it could pollute our water.

- During winter, Polar Bears hibernate.

Recycle Assignment
- We should recycle paper, metal, and plastic because it saves the cost and polution of having to make new items.
- People in Fayetteville can recycle by using the little blue bin, or taking their recyclebles to the nearest recycle plant and drop them off.
- Recycleing is a better way to do things because it can be reused in other products.
- Tranquil Drive Fayetteville, NC
- By going around in your own neighborhood and trying to get people to climb aboard on the project.
Save the world for a latte
Three things I learned:
- I learned that a startup is betting free coffees and groceries will encourage reluctant recyclers.
- in the south and mid-west, the recycleing rate is the lowest there.
- recycleing is most common on the coast.
Two things that I found interesting:
- That a town in Boston is offering free cofee and groceries to encourage reluctant recyclers.
- The south and mid-west have the lowest rate of recycling.
One question that I still have:
- Is this plan working for Boston.

Storm system drenches North Carolina coast
This article was published by star news online. The writers of this article are Sam Scott and Dave Reynolds. From reading this article I was informed that just recently a storm flooded the Crolina Beach. Wilmington International Airport reported 3.66 inches of rain. I also learned that it is very possible for the Carolina coast to get flooded. I find it interesting that there is a storm near our coast and how big it is. One question that I do have is, does the storm pose a threat.
Inflatable Lunar Habitat
This article was written by Fraser Cain. It was published by universe today. It's all about how humans are trying to return to the moon in 2020. Nasa is trying to build an inflated and pressurized habitat for humans. Pretty much giving astronauts their own atmosphere. On the inside nasa plans to build a heated inviroment, overing up to 35 metres, of living space, under a 2.4- metre ceiling. It will even have access points for electrical power.I think that it is very interesting that nasa plans to go back to the moon. I also think that it is interesting that they are trying to build a livable habitat out of a tent. One question that I still have is how are the astonauts going to breath up there.

Best Renewable Resource
The best renewable resource in my opinion is, solar energy. It saves a whole lot of money for people, and it saves us from having to use coal. At first it might be expensive, but in the end it is quite worth it. I do plan to invest in the solar energy equipment when I get older. I really think it was the best invention ever, as far as saving energy.

Astronomy
In my opinion, astonomy is the topic that is most interesting. I think that if I were in to science more, I would want to be an astronuat. I often go outside at night and just look at the stars. I think their beautiful. I'm glad we have scientist out there who love the study of the stars. If it weren't for them, I wouldnt know what I was looking at. The stars often help me relax.
